Mini Implants

A mini implant is a small screw that anchors into the jawbone, very similarly to a traditional implant. It is about a third of the diameter of a conventional dental implant.
It is used with other mini implants to fit under a denture to help with retention of the denture. They may be able to be retrofit into existing dentures.

What is the difference between a mini implant and a dental implant?

Size and usage are the main differences between the two. A traditional implant is large enough to support the denture, as well as retain the denture. A mini implant helps to hold in a denture that is supported by the gums.
